advice
on Buying an
English bulldog puppy.
This is for you to make an informed decision. IT
IS NOT TRYING TO GET YOU TO BUY OUR PUPPIES.wE CARE ABOUT bULLDOGS AND
We care if you support bad
breeders, internet pet stores, and unscrupulous import
brokers Because the puppies are the ones that suffer. please read this
you might be glad you did.
Yes, they do suffer. From 20 hours on a plane sick when they were
shipped from European puppymills and arrive dead or dying so somebody
can make a fast buck. The careless breeders who breed health problems
like heart defects and small trachea's bad knees to mention a few. The
puppies suffer from lifelong problems. Internet pet stores who buy
puppies from puppy mills that are raised in filth and disease and sell
to the public. DO A GOOGLE SEARCH ON THE WEBSITE NAME
AND THE OWNERS NAME!!!
Many people are victims of scammers, and bad breeders. Be careful who you deal with.
Please be careful when looking for a puppy to purchase.Cheap
Bulldogs are no bargain when they grow up looking like a boxer and costing
thousands at the veterinarian because of genetic defects.
There are no rare colors in Bulldogs. No Mini Bulldogs recognized by AKC.which
means they are mixed breed. AKC will only register purebreds. If you want a small
Bulldog consider a french Bulldog. Black
Bulldogs and Bulldogs with liver or brown colored noses also known as "dudley noses" are
both against the AKC standard. And a dudley nosed Bulldog is a disqualification
at an AKC show. The nose is to be BLACK. The eyes are to be "very dark". I just saw a website advertising rare
"Chocolate Bulldogs" These are DUDLEY nosed Bulldogs, a disqualification in the
AKC standard for the Bulldog. Do you want to pay $4000.00 or more for a dog that
is basically totally against the breed standard in other words the worst quality
Bulldog you can get? Go to the AKC Bulldog standard and read it. The standard is
what a Bulldog should be, not what some idiot trying to make money decides to
sell for a so called "rare" Bulldog.
These dogs are lacking PIGMENT which a lot of times goes along with genetic
defects. Deafness in dogs is caused by lack of pigment in the ears for instance.
Lack of pigment in the eyes in some breeds is associated with blindness. Skin
cancer can also develop in dogs lacking pigment. THAT is why we have breed
standards!! Double dilute dobermans may be at higher risk for skin
disorders than non-dilutes. So your so called rare black or blue or chocolate or
light eyed, blue eyed, or whatever else these idiots come up with next may not
be very healthy.
By the time you figure that out it is too late. Please buy your
puppy from a good breeder not an idiot. There are NO desirable rare
Bulldogs, just culls reputable breeders will NOT breed.
The desired body colors by the AKC standard are: Brindle, red, white, fawn
or fallow and
piebald with some variations in markings.
Why are people breeding undesired colors and going aganst the
standard instead of following it to produce better dogs? One word MONEY. You
think you are buying a rare English Bulldog puppy and paying more. You are actually buying poor quality
from backyard breeders who are laughing all the way to the bank. We follow the
American Kennel Club and Bulldog Club Of America standard for bettering the
breed.
Brokers have websites set up for you to buy English Bulldog puppies through their
website and they are shipped direct from their foreign breeders. They get
a percentage of the sales price. You have NO recourse against the broker
who has the website if you get a sick puppy. And try to get any recourse
from a breeder in Europe (It don't happen) so if you want to be sure you
have a breeder that if you have a problem you can get recourse, make
sure they are coming from a breeder based in the U.S. The way you know
you are dealing with a broker is they only ship to certain cities with
international airports. Also they have LOTS of
puppies or have them all the time. ASK where the puppies come from. (If
the person with the website raises them or someone in a foreign
country.) Several of these brokers have been sued, suspended from the
AKC, and have many other complaints. Lately there are more and more
internet pet stores claiming to be breeders, they are actually brokers
selling cheaper puppy mill puppies.
There are many good English Bulldog breeders and we would
be happy to refer you if you do not wish to purchase from us.
Scammers steal photos from legitimate breeders websites
and advertise English puppies for free you pay shipping or a very low
price. They want you to send money western union or moneygram. You cannot
raise Bulldogs and give them away or sell them extremely cheap.
c-sections, progesterone testing, stud service, and weeks of sleepless
nights to raise them up to 3 weeks old. The c-section alone is more than
the scammers want for the puppy. And international shipping is around
$1,200.00. Not to mention vet exam, health certificate and vaccines
before the airline will accept a dog for shipping. People do not
offer free English Bulldog puppies. Since most of the scammers are in
Nigera you can kiss your money goodbye.
Shipping and pricing.
Our goal as responsible breeders is quality not quantity.
Breeding healthy and conformationally correct English Bulldogs is not cheap
nor is it easy. We have a lot of money in our dogs and their care
and comfort. DO NOT ask us to reduce the price on puppies. We
do not negotiate. You are free to go elsewhere if you want a cheaper
puppy. Most puppies go to new homes at age 8 to 10 weeks. Puppies
are vet checked and vaccinated before going to new homes.
